Questions
Is the free tier really free?
Yes. No credit card is required. You get an API key with 1,000 calls per day, and it stays free.
Can I use the data commercially?
Commercial use requires the Institutional license. Free, Researcher, and Quant are personal-use licenses; Quant adds one professional seat.
Where does the data come from?
COT reports and SEC fundamentals come from CFTC and SEC public records. Prices come from licensed vendors with redistribution rights.
How do downloads work?
Batch jobs produce a zip of Parquet or CSV files. Download links are valid for 7 days. Researcher and above also get nightly full-history bundles.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans cancel at the end of the current period. Your API key then drops to the Free tier.
Do you offer academic pricing?
Yes. Email support@finzdata.com from a .edu address and we will set it up.
